It all happened yesterday when I returned to N.Del after enjoying a quick vacay at my hometown, C’garh. A dear friend of mine insisted on taking me to savor some Butterscotch milk at the city’s oldest and most popular haunt for flavored milks, Caventers. Knowing how I am new to this place and yet to build any affinity for the city, he thought may be Caventers would do the trick!

Soon I was treated to a bulky bottle of light yellow that contained more ice crystals than what was promised, milk! As I thoughtfully sipped the same, I noticed my dear friend, busy combing the Caventers’ vicinities for some more affinity-building gestures. The bottle, inconveniently big, both for my hands and face, probably hid my smile but certainly did not succeed in block my gaze that suddenly fell at the poor child who stood in front of me, a few inches away, in his effort to not make his adversities look so obvious!

Can’t say if he was dark or in desperate need of a shower, the divine law ensured that the innocence in the eyes of a 4 yr old remained just the same, be it the poor or the rich! He stood pondering, walking his index finger inside his mouth, probably the only taste he had felt since the break of the dawn.

In all the deprivation that one would observe without any efforts, I searched for some hues of happiness that must be brightening his world too. Sure enough, the soft sound emanating from his anklets that every mother would love to adorn her child with, along with his big tummy that made up for the absence of a dholak, as n when he wanted to entertain himself, made him resemble the child god, Ganesha. Of course, one would require a discerning eye for savoring such resemblance for the obvious elements of prosperity were miles away from his appearance. His persistent self stood hopeful, at a comfortable distance, perhaps, sensing my discomfort with the bottle by now.

Falling for this sight, I was determined to add my own stroke to this near finished painting that quietly radiated divine resemblance. Humming a song to myself, I poured the milk into a plastic cup and gently handed it over to the cherub in question. His eyes held the glass even more gently, but definitely after a quick glance of disbelief at me...! I saw his small hands firmly cupped around the plastic, careful enough not to crush it at the same time. I waited for his twinkling eyes to look at me again, smile may be…but his eyes were only dipped in the plastic! I waited for him to finish, without the slightest bit of hurry in my gait; after all, he was only a child! He finally tilted the glass and his head, for the want of the last sip.....finally obliging me with a smile! Soon, I made another round of plastic land in his hands, they were, ‘expert’ by now!

P.S. Caventers, less ice pls!

Are you getting bothered by a huge pile of laundry that’s decided to take away some precious hours off your weekend? Have you begun your Monday morning in an unavoidable launder-and-iron routine? Lets put an end to your mundane schedule of ironing sessions so you save some valuable time and spend it wisely on your varied areas of interest that had taken a backseat until now!

Be glad to get introduced to Drlron. As the name says, now you can wash and iron your clothes at the same time. Surprised? Read on! Drlron uses the condensation process where it dries the clothes by extracting maximum moisture and converts it into water. It can either be collected in a removable container within the appliance, or through a drainage system, if plumbed in.

Manufactured by Fagor (a leading brand of home appliances in both U.S. and U.K.) Drlron is designed with neatly classified sections for handling all kinds of cloths be it, bed linen, apparels and even inner wear, to avoid extra strain or damage to them. As the clothes are drying, they are neatly stacked on hanging clips and easily positioned for a round of ironing, making it ideal for handling shirts, trousers and so on.

The product claims to take only 120 minutes for completing a round of pret-a-porter clothes for just £1500 in your home. So, when are you saying goodbye to your weekend/week day woes?

After browsing through an array of products aimed at lighting up your house in just the right way, be ready to set your eyes on Lunabrite. Aptly called Lunabrite, this magical light rope zig-zags its way to jazz up your surroundings, in many interesting ways you have not yet imagined! Lunabrite can be easily used to highlight the special areas of your house say, a patio, staircase or even a small bar on the terrace, as it outlines the selected area, neatly lighting it in a clean, mellowed finish. This way, you can even turn an ordinary area of your house into a lit-up heaven!

In continuation of my efforts in digging out the most celebrated, environmentally cordial lifestlye products, you’ll be delighted to know that Lunabrite neither operates on electricity nor battery. It is assumed that it stores solar enegy. Hence, it stays illuminated from dusk to dawn.

Ideal for use in more ways than one, use it sparingly in this festive season to decorate your objets d’art or throw it over the chimmney for Santa’s arrival! If you cannot get enough of this little wonder, use it to outline the areas of your swimming pool in case you decide to go for a dip in the night, as Lunabrite is aqua-safe too.

Whether they are available in diff hues, can be moulded depending on the object/area selected for its usage, safe in gardens, regular maintenance, are some basic queries posed by the customer, as the website does not divulge much information.

But nevertheless, come evening and let Lunabrite cast its spell on you, with its neon magic!

Biofuel or Agrofuel can be termed as solid, liquid, or gas fuel consisting of, or derived from biomass. We have all been living in this belief that fuel produced from plants is beneficial, keeping in mind that plants help reduce carbon dioxide levles in the environment, not only absorbing CO2 but by releasing the carbon trapped in the ground.

However, producing certain feed-stockes like Canola, Soy and Corn, are posing much threat because the processes used for their production consume more energy to grow and process them. The crops currently used, require huge amounts of nitrogen-based fertilizers. A significant portion of the nitrogen in the fertilizers is actually consumed by bacteria in the ground and then emitted as nitrous oxide. As we move toward cellulosic and algae based feed-stocks, the balance should improve dramatically.

The estimates of nitrogen’s presence in the environment have increased from two percent to three or five percent now. Since nitrous oxide has twice the greenhouse effect of CO2, it can offset much of the benefit of using biofuels in place of fossil fuels.

We must initialize using feed-stocks that do not require huge amounts of fertilizers (much of which is also produced from petroleum) otherwise, it may be counterproductive to mess with most current biofuels.

This particular cell phone model, S168 is accompanied with a solar charger. Much to the resemblence of of Nokia 6300, this phone serves no visual delight if you’re expecting eye-candy of sorts, but armed with a solar charger, hope it makes heads turn!

While global warming is spreading its tentacles at an alarming rate, thankfully, there is no dearth of people and professional bodies initiating numerous efforts to create environment-friendly products that still promise the comforts of their non-friendly, even threatening, counterparts.

In yet another pursuit to take on the ‘clean up’ act, Google.org issued a $10 million request for proposals for projects encouraging the commercialization of plug-in hybrid vehicles, electric cars, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and so on. To substantiate this initiative, Google recently introduced a solar-powered parking bay and recharging stations. They have been created with a utility called, PG&E (PCG) where workers can choose from a variety of plug-in hybrid cars to be used on an employee car-sharing basis.

Also, Google is testing several plug-in Toyota Priuses ™ to assess their potential to serve as mobile generators (transferring electricity back to the grid from their batteries during times of peak demand).
Such innovations not only help reducing the pollutants in the environment but with the
amount of network management infrastructure required to kickstart this project and ensure its smooth functioning, this initiative is also looking out to be a prospective business opportunity for Google.org.
With tests such as, driving conditions, fuel efficiency and so on, being conducted, a large number of google employees can be seen running errands around the Silcon Valley, in their modified Priuses (black boxes installed). FYI the grants are part of Google.org’s (GOOG) RechargeIt.org initiative.
If all goes well in this venture, be sure to hop in a pair of eco-friendly wheels.

I am a winner today. A proud winner despite no competition thrown from those within the radius of my colleagues but it is a victory over the factors that are endangering all living species in the face of our planet in lieu of climatic changes. I chanced upon a hyperlink that claimed to help in removing 25 pounds of CO2 from the atmosphere...Curious? Let me elaborate: Stonyfield Farms made its way as an organic farming school in the early ’80s, french vanilla yogurt being its most-loved product till date. Coming a long way after introducing an array of (organic!) lip-smacking products (smoothies, energy drinks, even baby food) Stonyfield Farms stands strong in its resolve towards the betterment of our environment in the following ways:

1.	It was the first U.S. manufacturer to offset 100% CO2 emissions from facility energy use.

2.	It shares 10% of its profits with organizations dedicated in bringing back the environmental equilibrium to restore the shape of our planet.

Also, it has recently funded the new non-profit body called ‘Climate Counts’. You’ll be amazed to know about the rigorous efforts being undertaken against global warming by major companies (Apple, Nike and CNBC to name a few) under this new initiative. The Climate Counts scorecard section becomes a must visit for the same.

Stonyfield Farms aims to show its consumers how to fight climate change coupled with their purchases and investments for the same cause.
Going a step further, Planetsave, an online portal that addresses environmental & political issues, teams up with Stonyfield Farms to spread the message and request your participation in fighting climatic changes whereby major disasters can be averted in the wake of a better future. Feel free to visit their website and join in the global effort while we still have the time!
